How 3D Laser Scanning Preserves Cultural Heritage
Projects like this show how reality capture puts preservation tools in more hands. 3D laser scanning records a site’s exact geometry as a permanent digital archive—supporting research, education, restoration planning, and the recreation of details that may be lost over time, all without touching fragile historic material. 3DVDT partners with heritage organizations, schools, and municipalities across the San Francisco Bay Area to document culturally significant sites.
