Experience

Shari D. Kamimori is President of 3D Virtual Design Technology, Inc. (3DVDT). She grew up and studied in the Silicon Valley, receiving a B.S. in Interior Architecture from San Jose State University. Shari’s love for architecture took her to Europe, where she traveled, studied and worked for the next 15 years, including a partnership in a firm specializing in Digital Design Technology, servicing the Architectural , Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry.

Upon returning back to the U.S., Shari relocated to the San Francisco Bay area where she continued to expand her knowledge and experience, searching for the next opportunity in the advancement of Digital Design Technology.

With a professional career that spans over 25 years in both the U.S. and Europe, Shari founded 3DVDT, Inc. in 2008 to provide the AEC industry with an innovative alternative to traditional surveying methods.

With the use of 3D laser scanners, we capture the built environment in 3D and create directly from the scan data a precise 3D intelligent model and/or 2D CAD as-built documentation. The 3D capture is faster and more accurate than traditional methods and can also be used as a tool for risk management and quality control throughout the construction process.

This technology is also used to digitally preserve cultural heritage sites and historic buildings at risk of destruction and/or deterioration. As an active board director of Napa County Landmarks, we’ve supported projects in the historic Downtown of Napa, California after the South Napa Earthquake in 2014.

An array of projects surrounding the San Francisco Bay area include: City Hall, Fort Point, Fisherman’s Wharf, Potrero District, Civic Center, Financial District and expand to the East, South and North Bays. Our virtual and remote capabilities allow us to collaborate with strategic partners to accommodate your projects throughout the U.S. and Europe.
